On one of the most demanding circuits on the calendar and with a rider making his début on the bike and on the track, the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team achieved its best results of the season in the Superbike class.
After finishing Race 1 in the points and with consistently improving times, in Race 2 Leon Camier managed to finish in the top ten. The English rider had never before tested the F4 RR normally ridden by the injured Claudio Corti.
Starting from the nineteenth spot on the grid, Camier managed to take an encouraging fifteenth place in Race 1 with a very interesting progression.
In Race 2 as his familiarity with the track and bike increased, Camier was able to finish tenth, a result that demonstrates the potential and improvement of the F4 RR.
Leon Camier: “It has always been a dream of mine to race at Laguna Seca and it was fantastic to have the chance to try out the legendary “corkscrew” astride an MV Agusta. We had very little time to prepare for this race but from the first laps I found that I had a really good feeling with the bike. The F4 RR is a new project and I didn’t know what to expect… I’m pleased because overall it was a very positive weekend. We improved consistently, we took points home in both races and we rode MV Agusta into the top ten for the first time.”
The mechanics will now be taking advantage of the long summer break to further develop the bike so that it will be even more competitive for the Jerez della Frontera round on 7 September.
